Do i need to make a reservation?Yes, a reservation is required. Please contact our reservations department.
Which are your office hours?
The offices of the Amsterdam Water Taxi are open, Mondays through Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm. On Sundays our offices are closed.
You may telephone us each day from 9 am through 10 pm.
How do i pay?
You may settle your account at the end of each trip with the captain, cash,debit card or credit card (VISA,MASTER,AMEX) Only after approval we can invoice. Processing fee is € 9.00 per invoice.
Is there any wheel chair access?
Yes, max. 1 per boat. Chair must be folded.
Can i bring my pet?
Yes we allow small pets on board.
Pet needs to be housetrained and may not interfere with other passengers.
Is there a charge for my pet?
Yes, small pets are for free.
May i bring a buggy on board?
Yes you may. Max 1 buggy per boat in agreement with the captain.
Is there a microwave oven on board?
No. Should you need to warm babymilk, we make our on shore kitchen available to you.
Are the boats heated?
Yes. All boats dispose of a heating system.
Do you sail year round?
Yes we do. Also during the winter months. We also operate on national holidays. A 150% rate applies on national holidays.
Is there a washroom on board?
On all boats except the 2 Yellow Cabs, there are toilet facilities.
How about music?
All boats dispose of CD players, some provide iPod connections. You may bring along your own CD''s.
Do you sail at night?
Yes we do. Night rates are double daytime rates.
Do you provide guide service?
Yes we do. You may book a professional multilingual guide.
Can we buy refreshments and snacks on board?
Yes, we provide a minibar service. Drinkscharge according to drinks menu. Snacks to be ordered in advance.
Can we decorate boats?
Yes you may. To do so please report at the boat one half hour prior to departure. Decorations must be removed after the cruise.
Champagne?
Yes, to be reserved in advance.
Can i bring my own F&B?
Yes, but please check our conditions under the heading Catering.
Other on/off locations?
Yes, after consultation with our reservations department. Please note that special fees will apply.
Do babies go free?
Yes, they do AND have their own seat.
Safety?
There are buoyancy vests on board, in accordance with legal requirements.
Any safety drills?
No, they are not legally required.
Seasickness?
As the canals are virtually wave free there is no likelyhood of seasickness.
What to do in adverse weather?
Our boats are completely enclosed and heated.so that we may sail in vitually all weather. In the unlikely event of becoming weatherbound a full refund will be provided.
Telephone link with the boat?
Yes the boat may be contacted trough the skipper.
Car parking?
Please check under the heading ON/OFF Locations.
Own guide?
You may bring along your own guide.
Live music on board?
Yes, but bear in mind the limited space available.
Can i book my bridal trip/location in advance?
Yes, please check with the reservations department.
Is there a waiting lounge?
Yes, you can conveniently await the departure of your vessel at the Smits Koffiehuis which is a part of our own building.
What when the boat is late?
This should not normally happen. If so, please contact our reservations department under +31-(0)20-535 63 63.
